Vests Revisited
Jun 24th 2026
Summertime on the West Coast means Flock Fiber Festival is coming! This incredible show in Seattle is absolutely worth visiting the first weekend in August. And if you're going... may as well sport this years featured project: the Flock Vest!
Nothing says layering goals quite like a classic vest. You can choose from a cropped or full length; buttoned up as a tank, or open over t-shirts. This sweet little knitted vest has a fun play on stripes that makes picking colors a real treat! This vest is worked from the top down, seamlessly, beginning with the back neck, and the button band and armhole ribbing are picked up and knit.

Is it seasonal? Possibly. Is it adorable? Absolutely.
Pelica has been one of our favorite samples of recent months, and judging by our TWO sold out classes, you all agree! We have been low in stock of Brusca yarn since we shared this vest in February, but we are happy to report we are fully restocked, including several new colors!
The construction of this vest uses the first steps of Julie Weisenberger's Cocoknits method, working from the upper back of the neck to create clean shoulder lines and shaping. Pelica is knit in Rosa Pomar Brusca, a breed and flock specific yarn that is non-superwash and unbleached. DK weight Brusca is made with a blend of 50% Saloia and 50% Merino Branco & Merino Preto wool from free range sheep.
