Say hello to Yarn Nouveau!
May 4th 2026
Every now and again we stumble across a yarn base that is SO scrumptious we absolutely cannot live without it - and that's exactly what happened when we visited Yarn Nouveau's booth at Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle last year. Alesha, founder and dyer at Yarn Nouveau, loves creating deeply saturated, moody colorways and launched her business because she wanted to share that passion for color with other makers.
While we love all of the bases Yarn Nouveau has to offer, we had to start by stocking up on their incredible MCN DK. This luxurious, oh-so-smooshy DK weight 4ply yarn is a blend of 80% superwash Merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon with 246 yards per skein. Scroll on for project inspiration that will make this special yarn shine!
Cloudbreak is the tee you’ve been looking for! This new summer top designed by Wool & Pine has seamless construction, is cropped just right, features stockinette through the body and then a flirty, lacy scalloped hem that’s super fun and easy to knit. It goes with everything from skirts to jeans (plus with the next to skin softness of Yarn Nouveau MCN DK you’ll want to wear it constantly!). We love that both short and long sleeve options are included in the pattern, and that the lace instructions are provided in both written and charted format.

The Alchemist Slipover by Wool & Pine puts a new spin on the classic sweater vest. Designed to layer easily over everything from a crisp button-down to a simple tee, it’s the kind of piece that ends up in regular rotation. The oversized fit, shaped shoulders and armholes, and deep V neckline create a relaxed, chic silhouette. Adjustable I-cord tassel closures at each side let you change the fit and add a playful finishing detail. Knit in smooth stockinette with clean finishing, it’s easy, steady knitting that turns into a very wearable garment.
