De Rerum Natura Antigone is HERE
Apr 20th 2026
We just received an extremely special delivery from De Rerum Natura - a big box full of Antigone! This absolute stunner of a yarn is somewhat limited edition, as it's only available from De Rerum Natura once a year. We know that historically linen yarn isn't for everyone, but we're here to convince you that this may be the most perfect linen yarn in existence.
Composed of ten strands of well-twisted combed linen, Antigone has a smooth, silky and deliciously fresh feel. It can be knitted with fine needles for a regular fabric or at a looser gauge to take advantage of its natural drape, which allows it to be adapted to a variety of patterns. It's perfect for knitting all kinds of things; sweaters for transitioning from spring into summer, little tees for the warm days, lace cardigans to layer over pretty dresses... you could even crochet it into a market bag!
Antigone is made from flax grown in Normandy by the Terre de lin cooperative as part of a project to return to ancient cultivation practices aimed at preserving the soil and producing high quality fibers without chemical inputs. These long fibers are wet-spun in Lithuania with great care to create a regular, soft and naturally shiny yarn. The yarn is then twisted and dyed in France in the Creuse region. Each 100g ball has 284 yards, and we have 16 colors in stock - get them while you can, as we won't be able to restock until 2027!

French Knitwear designer MarGueNée has several sweet summer tees designed in Antigone, like the Rabastens top (featured above). This seamless top is knit from the bottom up, working the lace detail first and then moving on to the body. The Rabastens tee is size-inclusive, and depending on what size you choose, you'll need 3-5 balls of De Rerum Natura Antigone yarn to knit your own.
We also recommend checking out MarGueNée's Yuria and Zef tees, featured below.

Another beautiful top to showcase Antigone is the Dido Tee designed by Sari Nordlund. The Dido tee has a boxy fit and dropped shoulders. It is knitted seamlessly top-down with a lace and cable pattern on the front and the sleeves. This tee was originally designed in a different yarn, but the stunning version featured here shows how beautiful it can be in linen. The Dido tee is size-inclusive, and depending on what size you choose, you'll need 3-5 balls of De Rerum Natura Antigone yarn to knit your own.
Sari Nordlund also designed the Lily Vest and the Sunset Camisole (featured below), both of which are knit in Antigone.
