Expand your knowledge of knitted cables with guest teacher Sari Nordlund, a Finnish knitwear designer whose patterns focus on texture and cables. This Advanced Cables class will dive deeper into cabling techniques. Learn how to knit cables without a cable needle, explore more complicated cables, how cables affect gauge and how to add cables to an existing pattern.

Prerequisite: Must know knit and purl stitches, increases (m1L, m1Lp, m1R and m1Rp), decreases (k2tog, ssk and ssp), some cables and working charts flat and in the round.

*Materials must be purchased ahead of class time.

Materials:

• DK weight yarn for swatching in class (we recommend West Yorkshire Spinners Morris DK in a light color), or a smooth, light color from your yarn stash
• US 3 DPNs or circular needle 
• Cable needle

The Websters Class Policies:

• Pre-registration is required for all classes.
• Materials must be purchased in the shop ahead of class.
• Classes have a 4-6 person limit, depending on the class.
• Classes need a minimum of 3 students to run. If the minimum is not met by 2 days prior to class, the class will be cancelled and students will be offered a refund or store credit.
• Student cancellations more than 2 days in advance will be issued a store credit.
• Student cancellations less than 2 days of class are not eligible for a store credit.
• “No shows” are not eligible for a store credit.
