Introducing Wool Dreamers Saona
Jul 1st 2025
Lately we've been working on expanding our brand offerings, and we're over the moon to announce the arrival of our first shipment from Wool Dreamers.
Wool Dreamers is a mill based yarn company located in Mota del Cuervo, Spain. They source natural fibers cultivated throughout Spain to bring you uniquely beautiful and hearty materials for knitting, crochet, weaving and anything else you can dream of.
Wool Dreamers was born from the legacy of the Cabo family and their history in the Spanish wool industry. Their story begins more than 100 years ago when the family would purchase wool from local ranchers, wash it in the river by hand, and then spin and weave the fibers into blankets for horses and other agricultural purposes. As farming practices changed, the Cabo family adapted their operations and they acquired large-scale scouring and spinning equipment.
Wool Dreamers’ founder Ramon Cabo is a member of the third generation of Cabos to maintain and operate the family mill. Officially starting in 2020, Wool Dreamers was founded on the mission to support ranchers by paying them a fair price for the materials they produce, to bring strength to regional textile industries, and to share these incredible fibers with the world.
While we plan on bringing in several bases from Wool Dreamers as the year progresses, we decided to start by stocking their seasonally appropriate Saona yarn. Saona is named after the river where the Wool Dreamer's founder's grandfather, Julian, and his two sons; Teodoro and Ramón, would bring their mule-drawn cart full of wool fleeces. There, they spent the days washing the wool and allowing it to dry on the banks of the river in preparation for carding, spinning, and finally weaving to make blankets in the family mill.
Saona pairs Spanish grown Andalusian Cotton with Merina Entrefina and Manchega Traceable Wool to create a lovely 2-ply fingering weight yarn that's perfect for lightweight, warm weather garments. Saona is a yarn developed as a tribute to the generations who have shared their craft and enriched our lives with a love of making for us to carry on and share. Created in collaboration with designer Ozetta, each color is a glimpse at the personal history informing her life as a maker.
Hailey Smedley, known as the designer Ozetta, is based in a small town in Oklahoma where she creates knitting patterns using sustainable fibers. In her collection of designs you will find intentional wardrobe staples that will last a lifetime, with a focus on using non-superwash yarns like Wool Dreamers Saona.
The Air Tee by Ozetta (shown above in the color Guthrie) is worked from the top down. It features dropped shoulders paired with a loose and comfortable fit. The front of the tee is kept minimal, while the back features a simple panel of sideways stockinette across the shoulders. We love the look of this classic oversized tee with chic detailing, and find it perfect for everyday wear.

The Lakes Tee by Ozetta (shown above in the color Notes) is worked from the top down. The saddle shoulders are shaped for a comfortable oversized fit, while also adding a structural element to the tee. This piece is a go-to wardrobe staple to wear on any occasion. The design is also available with a classic stripe pattern here, and a long sleeve version (for when the weather cools!) can be found here. | The Port Cardigan by Ozetta (shown above in the color Page 149) is a classic silhouette, perfect for transitioning to cooler summer evenings. The subtle details like the ribbed armholes and tapered sleeves add a touch of sophistication, while the neck shaping ensures a flattering fit. Note that this cardigan is worked holding Saona with a strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair, which you can find here. |
