Class Weaving with Pick-Up Sticks - Hand Towels

Description
In this intermediate class you will learn how to create patterns and texture using a pickup stick on your rigid heddle loom. We will also cover hemstitching as a weft protector.
Prerequisite: Beginning weaving class or equivalent. Must know how to warp your loom.
*Materials must be purchased ahead of class time.
Materials:
- Rigid Heddle Loom 15" or wider
- 10 dent heddle
- Stick shuttle
- Pick-up stick 16" or wider
- 2 balls of Berroco Remix Light in different color (see model)
- Removable stitch markers
- Waste yarn
- Tapestry needle for hemstitching
- Tape measure
Homework:
- Warp your loom - set warping peg 75" from the back of your loom and direct warp using one color of Berroco Remix Light.
- The completed warp will be approximately 148 ends/74 loops wide (you can measure 14.75" width on your heddle. Be sure to center the warp.)
- Weave 1-2" of waste yarn to close the gap.
- Bring your warped loom to class with yarn, stick shuttle, pick-up stick, tape measure, removable markers and tapestry needle.
The Websters Class Policies:
- Pre-registration is required for all classes.
- Materials must be purchased in the shop ahead of class.
- Classes have a 4-6 person limit, depending on the class.
- Classes need a minimum of 3 students to run. If the minimum is not met by 2 days prior to class, the class will be cancelled and students will be offered a refund or store credit.
- Student cancellations more than 2 days in advance will be issued a store credit.
- Student cancellations less than 2 days of class are not eligible for a store credit.
- “No shows” are not eligible for a store credit.
