Class Olgajazzy Workshop - Origami Knitting Full Day
Description
The Full Day Workshop includes the morning session on Origami Knitting Part 1, as well as lunch with Olga and an afternoon session on Part 2 Origami Knitting.
Morning Session: Learn about Origami knitting with guest teacher and designer Olga Buraya-Kefelian. Olga will present her 3D knitwear design philosophy, geared toward your own discovery of origami knitwear! We will try our hand at some paper folding and learn about aspects of translating it into knitwear by either working with swatches or by casting on and working on the Miura Cowl.
Afternoon Session: In Part 2 of our Origami knitting instruction, we continue to explore further with fibers and yarns to achieve texture in hand knitting. We will use more intricate techniques and their combinations to offer elasticity and malleability in order to create structured, crisp lines reminiscent of the ancient art of paper folding or any other geometric iterations. Students can choose to swatch or cast on and put their newfound knowledge to practice by working on the Yabane Cowl pattern to make their own wearable origami accessory.
