Spring Forward with Spree
Mar 12th 2024
Lately there's been a flood of new yarns arriving at the shop, but we're loving the cotton/wool blends the most; they're just so versatile (not to mention comfortable to wear!). The most recent blend to hit our shelves is Berroco Spree - a DK weight yarn with an impressionistic color palette.
Using a spray-effect dye technique, Berroco has added dappled, gradient color to the variegated shades of Spree - these knit up in hues reminiscent of Monet’s famous gardens and sunsets, or Van Gogh’s starry skies and landscapes. The solid shades of Spree are available in a curated palette that pair beautifully with the variegated ones, giving you plenty of options for stripes and color play.
Mixing solid and multi-color yarns in one pattern can add visual interest and depth to the finished project - and this Striped Chevron Scarf from Churchmouse really makes Berroco Spree shine.
The Striped Chevron Scarf features two-row stripes that zig zag off your needles in an easy-to-memorize chevron pattern with alternating color blocks. We love that you can pair adventurous variegated hues with coordinating solids and watch how the zig zags harmonize the shades.
Not sure where to start? No need to worry - we took the work out of choosing colors and have 4 stunning colorways available in kits for you!
