Second Chance at Our Springtime Faves
Apr 15th 2024
Spring is here, and for us "all season" knitters that means feathery soft cottons and plant fibers aplenty. We are absolutely loving all the new yarns, and thought we'd do a round up of the best things to hit our shelves recently.
The first noteworthy yarn of the season is Berroco Bozzolo, a smooth 100% cotton yarn from Italy. It's a feathery soft, worsted/aran weight yarn that boasts 240 yards per ball and comes in a gorgeous array of solids and multicolors. Bozzolo is the perfect choice for spring projects that are breathable and super comfortable to wear. With a subtle sheen and delightful feel, this yarn gives an airy lightness to garments and accessories.
We also really enjoy cotton/wool blends for spring; they're just so versatile (not to mention comfortable to wear!). The most recent blend to hit our shelves is Berroco Spree - a DK weight yarn with an impressionistic color palette. The solid shades of Spree are available in a curated palette that pair beautifully with the variegated ones, giving you plenty of options for stripes and color play. The Striped Chevron Scarf from Churchmouse (featured above) really makes Spree shine.
The Striped Chevron Scarf features two-row stripes that zig zag off your needles in an easy-to-memorize chevron pattern with alternating color blocks. We love that you can pair adventurous variegated hues with coordinating solids and watch how the zig zags harmonize the shades. Not sure where to start? No need to worry - we took the work out of choosing colors and have 4 stunning colorways available in kits for you!

Spring also means that many of our customers are looking to start a baby blanket that will work up fast for an upcoming baby shower. Sound like you? We have the perfect blanket project!
Sliding is Fun by Darn Knit Anyway is a stroller sized baby blanket that only uses the knit stitch. This quick knit uses 2 skeins of Juniper Moon Farms Cumulus yarn - an aran weight Israeli Mako Cotton and Nylon blend that's a cuddly as can be. We recommend pairing a ball of Cumulus Rainbow with a coordinating skein of Cumulus Solid to achieve the fun striped look featured above (sample shown in Prismatic Kaleidoscope and Atlantis).
Sliding is Fun is a free pattern on Ravelry - but for a limited time we'll include a copy with any 2 ball purchase of JMF Cumulus and/or JMF Cumulus Rainbow.
Our friends over at Spincycle Yarns are hosting a Cowlgirl KAL! We LOVE knitting cowls and are super excited to be offering a variety of kits featuring our favorite cowls worked up in Spincycle yarns.
This knit-a-long will run through the end of May, so you've got plenty of time to order whatever cowl kit inspires you most and get knitting! For more information or to join in the fun, visit the
