Rift Tee in Juniper Moon Farm Zooey featured on Ravelry users cherylhjli and deezknitzpgh
While we appreciate the constant flow of new patterns being released on Ravelry every day, we also take comfort in the tried and true favorites. It takes time to knit a garment, so it's important to choose designs that will feel relevant in your handmade wardrobe for years to come. The perfect, timeless yarn to knit our favorite tees is Juniper Moon Farm Zooey - a dk weight cotton/linen blend with a slight thick-n-thin texture. Zooey is the quintessential summer yarn; it's crisp and lightweight, and softens up with wear and washing (which is easy to do as it’s machine washable!).
One of our go-to summer tops is Rift by Jacqueline Cieslak (featured above). Rift cracks open all your assumptions about what a “basic tee” pattern should be. This lightweight, bottom-up knit includes instructions for two necklines, optional bust darts, short or long sleeves, and a custom fit bicep. The design features a slightly cropped body and a split high-low hem in twisted rib, giving it enough detailing to be interesting while maintaining a timeless simplicity. Juniper Moon Farm Zooey adds a touch of textural interest to this pattern, and is available in an array of bold colors and neutrals. Best of all, you only need 3 or 4 balls of Zooey to make any size!
Next up we have Ranunculus by Midori Hirose - this lovely lace yoked top is almost always on the Ravelry Top 20, with a staggering 23,000 completed projects to seek inspiration from! The Ranunculus pattern lets you make it your own by choosing from a smaller or wider neckline, and short sleeves or long puff sleeves. Whether you opt for Juniper Moon Farm Zooey in a light neutral or a bright pop of color, we guarantee this delicate tee will be something you reach for all summer long. You will only need 2-4 balls of Zooey to make any size.

Anker's Summer Shirt knit in Zooey by Ravelry user MaggieAnnKnits
The last (but certainly not least!) on our list of summer tee must-haves is Anker's Summer Shirt by PetiteKnit. This shirt features a decorative yoke that is worked from the top down. The yoke is worked in sections of rib with increases in the round, followed by classic raglan increases when the stockinette stitch section begins. We love the simple beauty and wearability of this tee - there's even a long sleeve sweater version available if you need to knit one for winter, too! Anker's Summer Shirt uses between 3-5 balls of Zooey.
