Here at Websters we take pride in offering a variety of hand dyed yarns and are thrilled to announce the arrival of Tumalo Fibers here in our shop. This small batch dyer resides not too far from here in Tumalo, OR where she can dye yarn in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains.

With such a special company we wanted to bring in something that stands apart from our other hand-dyed yarns, and we definitely found it. Ghost Town Worsted is a non-superwash 3-ply yarn with lots of bounce. This super squishy yarn is made with Shaniko wool, a Merino-Rambouillet cross sheep raised in the USA. Shaniko wool is sustainable and RWS certified to protect the welfare of animals, the land and the workers.

We love the tonal color palette of Ghost Town Worsted and have already cast-on a few accessories in this scrumptious wool. If you're local, we encourage you to swing by the shop and check out the Desert Rose hat sample we just finished - the stitch definition is incredible, and Ghost Town is amazing to knit with!

The Desert Rose hat by Wool & Pine is a no-fuss knit with rewarding results. You’ll begin with a ribbed brim, then continue in the round, following a straightforward chart that guides you through the cabled body to the crown, which is designed to mimic the petals of a desert rose. It’s a project with clear instructions (both charted and written), making it accessible for knitters looking to develop their skills or enjoy a quick knit.

You'll only need one skein of Ghost Town Worsted to complete this hat - but it's such a joy to knit, you may want to make more than one!

The next project on our list to cast on is the Under the Canopy cowl by Andrea Rangel. This meditative colorwork cowl pairs a solid yarn like Ghost Town Worsted with Spincycle Dream State, a combination sure to be an addictive knit.

"It gets dark quicker under the forest canopy. These florals and ferns are a celebration of those shadowy corners where you might spot a bright bit of color as the sun goes down."

We're so excited about this project that we've gone ahead and created kits using our favorite hues of Ghost Town Worsted and complementary shades of Dream State. Whether you prefer your colors reminiscent of the forest, or bright and bold, we've got you covered.

Note: the pattern sample was knit using 2 different colors of Dream State, but we chose to use 2 skeins of the same color in our kits.
