Brrr, it's chilly this week! Whether you're wanting to whip up something cozy for yourself,

or looking for your next quick-to-knit gift project, we recommend casting on a colorful Sophie Shawl to stay warm. This playful twist on the classic wardrobe staple, designed by PetiteKnit, is worked back and forth in one piece, from tip to tip in garter stitch with built-in i-cord edges for a polished look.

For our Sophie Shawl we used self-striping Juniper Moon Farm Fairy Floss yarn (featured here in the colorway Supernatural). This fun, color gradient yarn is a luxurious blend of airspun baby alpaca, virgin merino wool and polyamide. With its super bulky gauge, Fairy Floss creates bold, statement-worthy pieces perfect for cold weather comfort. Each skein boasts 328 yards of yarn, meaning we were able to knit a size small Sophie Shawl with just one ball!

We recommend using a size US 9 needle for this version of the Sophie Shawl, as our yarn choice is thicker then the pattern recommends.

We're excited to announce that when the New Year arrives, we'll be staying open late every Thursday to host weekly Knit Nights down at the shop! We've been craving more time with our close knit community and look forward to opening our doors each week to invite local makers in, with the goal of providing a welcoming space full of creative inspiration for knitters, crocheters, and handworkers of all types.
