The Cloud Drift Cowl Kit is here! This beautiful new pattern is an exciting collaboration from Simply Shetland, Madelinetosh, and Gudrun Johnston for Rhinebeck 2024. The construction of Cloud Drift takes inspiration from Shetland hap shawls; it's worked flat with yarn overs along one edge, and then seamed together. Cloud Drift features mosaic knitting, a fun colorwork technique (without stranding!), all on a garter stitch background - another nod to traditional Shetland knitting.

The Cloud Drift Cowl features a limited edition Tosh Silk Cloud color, Plivver, dyed just for Simply Shetland to perfectly match the main color shade of Spindrift in Old Gold. When using shades close in value for the contrast colors, the simple mosaic design creates a gradient effect reminiscent of Sashiko patterns, highlighting the beauty of Shetland yarn held with a Japanese milled yarn.

The Cloud Drift Cowl kit is available in 2 different colorways. Palette 1 (shown above) features Spindrift in Old Gold held with Tosh Silk Cloud in Plivver for the main body and Spindrift in Amber, Flame and Sunglow for the contrast colors.

Palette 2 features Spindrift in Old Gold held with Tosh Silk Cloud in Plivver for the main body and Spindrift in Lomond, Sky and Eggshell for the contrast colors.

Each limited edition Cloud Drift Cowl kit includes 5 balls of Spindrift (2 balls of the main color and 1 ball each of the three contrasting colors), 1 skein of Tosh Silk Cloud, a golden Boxie bag from Della Q, and a postcard with a free pattern download for the cowl.
