Laurel's New Favorite Yarn
Sep 30th 2024
In my 20 years of knitting, I have seen a LOT of yarn, which is just to say it takes something special to get me excited about something "new" these days.
The first time I felt Seis Cabos, I fell head over heels.
It was hard to justify adding it since we already carry a worsted weight yarn from Malabrigo, our beloved Rios, the tried and true superwash merino that we all know and love. Seis Cabos is a NON-superwash fine merino that just has to be seen and felt to be understood. It is soft with a crisp finish almost like a cotton, but with the supreme bounce and elasticity of wool. The colors don't quite saturate to the center of the 6 plies, giving it a gentle appearance, like watercolors. It has stunning stitch definition, popping a twisted rib or a cable to new heights.
Whether you are a Malabrigo loyalist or a crunchy wool fan, this yarn somehow blends the two worlds into a skein everyone can love.
We currently have Seis Cabos available in 17 classic Malabrigo colors.
My first project with Seis Cabos...
was the Down The Line Beanie, although any of Benjamin Matthews textured beanie patterns would be lovely. |
My NEXT project with Seis Cabos...
will be some kind of cozy, textured sweater, like this Elah by Isabell Kraemer: my kind of blend of interest and comfort knitting. |
