Description

The Pelica Vest from Rosa Pomar is a classic staple inspired by the sheepskin vests of the Portuguese Shepherds. This garter stitch vest is worked from the top down in a seamless construction framed with I-cord edges throughout. This intermediate sweater class will cover applied I-cord, picking up stitches, provisional cast on, buttonholes and increases.

Prerequisite: Know how to knit and purl, cast on and bind off, have practiced reading patterns, have some sweater knitting experience or taken the Simple Sweater class is required.

  • Rosa Pomar Pelica Vest pattern
  • Rosa Pomar Brusca (sample) or DK or light worsted weight yarn (non-superwash wool recommended) in the amount based on your size and desired length:
    • Finished Bust Size: 36 (37, 39, 45) (48, 53, 57, 61)"
    • Short Verison: 502 (520, 574, 698) (744, 832, 884, 967) yards
    • Long Verison: 663 (685, 747, 906) (969, 1088, 1158, 1275) yards
  • US 7 32" circular needle
  • Stitch markers, tapestry needle
  • 4-5 buttons approximately 0.625" diameter
