Description
The Anker's Summer Shirt from PetiteKnit is the perfect light layer for a summer's day. It's knit from the top down with bands of ribbing that detail the yoke. Make it with short or long sleeves in your favorite cotton yarn. We will cover increases, magic-loop and modifying patterns to get the perfect fit.
Prerequisites: Must be able to read pattern, knit, purl, cast on, bind off, knit in the round.
Required Materials:
- Anker's Summer Shirt Pattern by PetiteKnit
- DK weight yarn (sample in Rowan Summerlite DK) in amount for your size
- US 4 & US 6 16" & 24-40 circular needles (depending on your size)
- US 4 & 6 DPNs if not doing magic loop
Finished Sizes: 33.5 (35.75, 37.75, 39.25, 43.25, 47.25, 51.25, 55, 60.25)"
Yarn: 595 (714, 714, 833, 952, 1071, 1190, 1190, 1190) yards
Homework:
Before class you must knit and wash a swatch for instructor review (to make sure you are knitting to gauge before we get started).
- Cast on 26 stitches
- Knit 3 rows
- Row 1: Knit 3, Purl 20, Knit 3
- Row 2: Knit across
- Repeat rows 1 & 2, 13 more times for a total of 28 rows
- Knit 3 rows
- Bind off loosely
Wash your swatch and lay flat to dry. The inner stockinette square should measure 4" across. If you have questions, please talk with the instructor, Erin (available Thursdays-Sundays).
The Websters Class Policies:
- Pre-registration is required for all classes.
- Materials must be purchased in the shop ahead of class.
- Classes have a 4-6 person limit, depending on the class.
- Classes need a minimum of 3 students to run. If the minimum is not met by 2 days prior to class, students will be notified and credited for a future class.
- Cancellations up to 48 hours in advance will be issued a store credit.
- Cancellations within 48 hours are not eligible for a refund.
