Pick Your Next Project with Berroco
Oct 29th 2025
We just received a HUGE restock of all things Berroco - from easy care Comfort Chunky to squishy self-striping balls of Wizard, and everything in between. We love the wide range of yarns we carry from Berroco, and wanted to take some time to share a few of our favorites with you. Berroco's line of yarn is oh-so versatile, and one of the first we reach for when getting ready to crochet a gift for an upcoming baby shower, or cast on our next sweater project. We've gone ahead and pulled together patterns for each yarn featured here, so hopefully you'll find the perfect thing to inspire your next knit or crochet project!
The first yarn we unboxed this week was Berroco Wizard, a chunky weight yarn that's so light it feels weightless. The magic of Wizard comes from the chainette construction and machine wash-ability of this extrafine Merino and nylon blend. Wizard is available in over a dozen self-striping colorways, as well as a curated palette of coordinating solids. We love how Alison Green's Stargazer (featured above) pairs a solid shade of Wizard with a self-striping colorway to create a gorgeous stranded colorwork pullover. Worked seamlessly in the round form the top down, Stargazer is straightforward to knit and would be a dazzling addition to your sweater wardrobe!

| Alison Green's Skip is a stunning cowldana worked in a pair of Wizard shades, choosing a solid and a self-striping colorway. Worked from the top down, slipped-stitch colorwork creates a striking pattern that's also engaging to knit. Give this fun cowl a try, we guarantee it will keep you warm (and wrapped in color!) all winter long! | The Retreat Cardigan, designed by Åsa Buchta, is the perfect layer for fall and winter with a relaxed fit and allover texture pattern. Retreat is worked from the bottom up in pieces and then seamed. We love how you can really make this cardigan one-of-a-kind by using the stunning self-striping shades in the Wizard palette - but it'd look great in a solid color, too! |
Take a look at these cuties! The Berroco Lanas Light Mini Color Pack features curated color palette options, each with six 25g mini skeins of the popular Lanas Light yarn. These pint-sized skeins are great for stranded colorwork, contrasting trims or stripes, and are meant to work in larger projects with the full size skeins of Lanas Light. Each mini color pack comes in a sturdy zipper pouch that's great for storing your notions or small projects.

| Mel Kennelly's Birgit scarf is a modern take on a classic, join-as-you-go granny square scarf, which alternates between colorful motifs and solid color squares. Easily customize this fun project by choosing a Mini Color Pack and main color to suit your style, and enjoy every bit of this engaging crochet scarf! | Ingrid is a modern colorwork pullover designed by Åsa Buchta. It's knit from the top down with raglan shaping and simple stripes. Pair your favorite Mini Color Pack with a coordinating main color to create a personalized sweater you’ll love wearing all year long. |
One of our favorite Berroco yarns to cozy up with is Dash - a fluffy, bulky weight chainette yarn that's squishy, soft and remarkably light. Painted with bright "dashes" of color throughout, this extrafine Merino wool and nylon blend keeps you engaged while you craft, always wanting to see when those dashes will appear.
The Berroco Design Team used Dash to knit up an array of Florrie scarves (shown above), and we just love how cozy they look! Florrie is a simple stockinette scarf with garter stitch dashes to match the color change to create a beautiful effect. Grab two balls of your favorite color and give it a shot, we bet you'll want to knit more then one!

| If you prefer to crochet, give Zurie a try! This easy-to-make cowl features a simple stitch pattern to make the most of the color changes. This cozy accessory is worked flat then seamed, and can be worn looped once or twice for a closer fit. | Sarah decided to use Dash to knit The Daily sweater by Andrea Mowry. "While Dash is chunkier than what the pattern recommends, it's super airy and flexible - I swatched first and was able to get gauge. I love the results, plus it was a quick knit! |
Vintage is Berroco's famous machine washable blend; featuring a wide color range, an incredibly soft feel and generous yardage. It's perfect for all your knitting and crochet projects! Worsted weight Vintage has a unique fiber blend of 52% acrylic, 40% wool and 8% nylon that makes laundering a breeze - it's well suited for easy care garments for both children and adults, especially projects you plan to gift.
We particularly love Vintage for large projects like Fifty Four Ten Studio's All Kinds of Weather blanket (featured above). This gorgeous knit temperature blanket features 14 hues of Vintage; Black Cherry, Pumpkin, Marmalade, Butternut, Rye, Smoke, Overcast, Sage, Twilight, Breezeway, Jalapeno, Acai, Douglas Fir and Charcoal. If you're interested in creating a temperature blanket of your own next year, we encourage you to join our 2026 Temperature Blanket Make-a-Long. More details on that below!

Come down to the shop Sunday, Nov, 2nd, at 4:30pm for a planning party with Paula and Sarah. We'll have pattern suggestions (crochet & knit options available), provide you with a temperature scale worksheet, and help you choose your yarn and color palette. We recommend using a machine washable, worsted weight yarn like Berroco Vintage or Berroco Ultra Wool for this project.
This Make-a-Long will run through the entire year of 2026, and we highly encourage you to attend our monthly MAL meetups. Having the support and encouragement of your local crafting community is a great way to stay on track, even when life gets busy. Thursday, January 8th at 5:30pm will be our first Team Temperature Blanket check-in. Beginning in February, we'll be having regular MAL check-ins down at the shop the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-7:30pm.
Not local? Don't worry! Even if you can't join our in-person planning party, you can still participate from afar - just pick you preferred knit or crochet pattern and get started. January 1st., Paula and Sarah will be sharing their blanket progress online throughout the year, and we'd love to see your progress too - don't forget to tag us on IG @yarnatwebsters
