Manifesting Spring with Skyline
Jan 26th 2026
Do you ever knit one season ahead? It's a great way to ensure you have fresh new knits to wear when the weather shifts. When we daydream about warm weather garments, we find our minds wandering towards yarn and patterns by DanDoh. The founder of DanDoh Yarn, Yumiko Alexander, creates designs that are a harmonious blend of simple shapes, rich textures, and unique stitch patterns that cater to all body types. When you cast on one of her beautiful creations, you can guarantee that each piece will become a go-to wardrobe staple that effortlessly combines simplicity and elegance. If you knit fast and get through a DanDoh pattern (or two) before spring, you can wear them now by styling them over long sleeve shirts or dresses.
Yumiko just released the stunning Skyline top (featured above), and she'll be starting her Winter 2026 KAL this weekend. The rules for this knit-a-long are pretty simple: you must knit the Skyline pattern using DanDoh Linen yarn - which we just got a restock of! You can find more info on the DanDoh Winter 2026 KAL here.
DanDoh Linen is a wonderful, worsted weight 100% pure linen yarn from Japan. With its clean, crisp fibers spun into a distinctive chain ply structure, DanDoh Linen creates elegant, lightweight pieces that drape beautifully. You'll love the feel of this 100% linen yarn as you work with it, and it softens more with every wash and wear. If you're planning on knitting the Skyline top, take a look below for sizing and yarn requirements.
Like all of Yumiko's designs, the Skyline top is fun to knit. A combination of yarn overs and decreases create lines of moving eyelets, which are framed by soothing stockinette stitch. The simplicity of this design produces a very elegant top which you’ll love wearing all season long. The Skyline top is featured here with long sleeves, but the pattern also includes directions for a sleeveless version.
How much yarn do I need to knit a Skyline (with sleeves)?
