We always look forward to Shibui launch days. Each yarn they introduce fills a unique niche in their collection, with the ability to mix with the rest, or stand alone. Today, we'd like to introduce you to Vine.
Vine is a washed paper and cotton tape yarn that is wrapped in a fine silk thread. The result is an unexpectedly soft yet crisp yarn. We have swatched it on several needle sizes, and it performs well at quite a range of gauges. For the launch, Shibui has two patterns that use Vine: Amos and Mitchell.
Amos is a darling tee that uses Vine throughout with stripes of Fern, their 100% cotton yarn. This boxy pullover has cool, crisp lines and breezy stripes, and can be knit with either short or long sleeves. We have created kits for the short sleeve version. If you would like to make the long sleeve version you just need 1 additional skein of each yarn.
Mitchell is a stylish canvas to highlight this unique yarn. The architectural shape and the high-lo hem are on trend, and the distinctive crisp yet fluid fabric makes this a spring staple.
