Kaffe Fassett has an impressive catalog of designs using Rowan yarns, and this latest addition is another work of art. Working with Rowan, Kaffe created 8 new Felted Tweed colors to give the range his own special pizazz. He has designed 5 accessories and 2 garments to show off the additions, all featured in the booklet Kaffe's Colours.
If you are familiar with Kaffe, you know what follows... his iconic blend of intarsia and brilliant colors is in full force here. If a simpler project is what you're after, look no further than the Vibrant Stripe scarf (above). A simple stockinette scarf in 11 vibrant shades, this fun fall accessory will liven up your winter wardrobe.
Why not polka dots? A modern dolman shape is given a retro twist with these bold spots. This statement piece doubles as a fun intarsia puzzle and an eye catching finished garment.
Cool Weave is reminiscent of a log cabin design, with a monochromatic color palette that still has plenty of variation. The 9 shades of greens, blues, and purples work together to create a harmonious wrap that can be backed with fabric if you choose.
The Checkerboard throw combines both fair isle and intarsia techniques. The finished project can be worn like an oversized wrap, or used as a blanket... either way the audacious colors will cheer your heart as surely as the wrap will warm your body and soul.
Bold intarsia colorblocks on a backdrop of geometric fair isle? Sounds like Kaffe Fassett! Lady of the Lake uses a combination of intarsia and fair isle, integrating larger geometric shapes over smaller ones with dynamic results.
