
Class Sweater Soldotna Colorwork Session A
Description
The Soldotna Sweater is a top down, colorwork pullover. Simple enough for an adventurous beginner yet still engaging for advanced knitters. In this class we will focus on colorwork techniques and short rows. Students must have experience knitting at least one sweater. No previous colorwork experience is necessary.
Prerequisite: cast on/off, knit, purl, knitting in the round and have made at least one sweater before.
Materials:
- Soldotna Crop pattern by Catilin Hunter
- US 5 16" & 32" circular needles, DPN's or magic loop (optional)
- US 3 16" & 32" circular needles, DPN's or magic loop (optional)
- DK weight yarn in 4 colors (sample in Rowan Summerlite DK) in the amount for your size (see pattern for yardage)
- Stitch markers
- Stitch holders
- Tapestry needle
Homework:
Swatch and get gauge. Ask instructor before class for swatching chart or to check your gauge.
Once you have gauge, cast on the number of stitches for your size and work the neck ribbing as specified in the pattern before class.
