Welcome Back, Malabrigo Caracol!
Mar 2nd 2023
All winter we've been asked, "do you still have that yarn that kinda looks like stained glass?" And FINALLY the answer is YES!
Malabrigo Caracol has been out of production for over a year, so we could not have been more thrilled to open a couple of giant boxes of it yesterday. We worried it had missed the winter weather, but here in Oregon we got hit with SNOW this week! One skein of Caracol will make a cozy cowl or hat in no time, a perfect pop of color and warmth on these frosty days. Some of our favorite pattern ideas from Ravelry can be found below!
Aguas Blancas Brim Beanie
Yarn: 1 skein Caracol AND 1 skein Rasta
One thing we love about super bulky yarns like Caracol is how quickly they work up. The stunning Aguas Blancas Brim Beanie designed by Kristel Nieves combines Caracol and Rasta (another super bulky favorite from Malabrigo) to create a warm, cozy hat with a gorgeous aesthetic. This knit beanie uses 1 skein each of Caracol and Rasta - and with so many colors in stock, the combinations are endless! There's even a matching headband included with the hat pattern.
Cobblestone Cowl
Yarn: 1 skein Caracol AND 1 skein Malabrigo Sock or Ultimate Sock
This fun crochet cowl combines Malabrigo Caracol with a fingering weight yarn like Malabrigo Ultimate Sock to create a textured bubbly effect. You'll only need 1 skein of each yarn for this project, but it's such an addictive crochet project, we bet you won't want to stop there!
