Quick, Cozy Knits in Berroco Dash
Mar 4th 2025
While it's still winter, we want to keep knitting with cozy, squishy goodness - and we are obsessed with Berroco Dash. This super bulky yarn is an Extrafine Merino Wool & Nylon blend, making it super soft with a touch of stretch. Dash is a chainette style yarn painted with bright "dashes" of color throughout. We love how light weight this yarn feels in spite of being super bulky (not to mention how fast it knits up!).
The Galatee sweater by Berroco Design Team (featured above) is a bottom-up pullover. Simple and classic, this fun sweater lets the color change of Dash do all the work. We just stocked up on 8 colors of Berroco Dash, giving you plenty of options to really make this sweater your own! Each ball of Dash boast 230yds, and you'll need between 3-6 balls to knit Galatee.
If you're local, swing by the shop to see the Galatee sweater in person, as well as several other garments and accessories knit up in Dash!
Not sure you're ready to commit to knitting a sweater? That's ok! Grab yourself 2 balls of Dash and try it out on the Florrie scarf by the Berroco Design Team (shown above). Florrie is a simple stockinette scarf with intuitive garter stitch dashes to match the color changes, adding a little textural interest to this beginner friendly project.

The pattern that first had us falling in love with Berroco Dash was this playful Liftie earflap hat by Brenda York. Liftie is a great project for adventurous beginners, and works up quick on US 11 needles. Plus, you only need 1 ball of Dash to knit this hat! |
The Summit cowl designed by Åsa Buchta is worked from the bottom up and features slight shaping with fun, colorful bobbles. This cowl calls for 2 balls of Dash, and is a great introduction to knitting bobbles if you've never tried. |
We've decided to put our knitting needles to work for an incredible cause this April, and we need your help! Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is a 12 hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. 100% of funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
This year we've set up Team Websters, and our staffer Sarah has committed to knitting for the cause. There are two ways to support the Knit for Food Knit-a-thon: You can donate OR you can sign up to knit/craft for 12 hours! Please click the link below to Donate, join Team Websters, or to simply learn more about this year's Knit for Food knit-a-thon.
Matching donation offer: Websters will match your donation to our team (up to $2000). Help us surpass our goals and generate money for these worthy organizations!
Our Spring Stash Swap will take place on March 29th from 12-4pm in the Gresham room at the Ashland Library. Donations can be dropped off at either The Websters or the Ashland Library between March 22-28th.
If you donate to the swap, you will receive a ticket for entry.
You MUST have a ticket for entrance between 12-2pm.
If you do not have a ticket, you may enter from 2-4pm.
