Last Call for Linen!
Aug 16th 2023
Although summer may be nearing its end, we feel like there's still time to do a last call for linen knits. We've pulled together a collection of our favorite linen yarns, along with some project ideas that will inspire you to get knitting so you can wear them now.
The shining star at top of our linen list is always Euroflax, a certified Oeko-Tex sport weight yarn made out of the finest linen sourced from Belgium and France. Euroflax is certified EUROPEAN FLAX®, meaning that in addition to the certified source, the production of Euroflax is done with respect for the environment with no irrigation, no GMO and no waste. This amazing 100% linen yarn helps regulate body temperature, moisture management and is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. Added bonus - it's machine washable AND dryable!

Looking for a fast project? Quince & Co. Kestrel is an aran weight yarn made with 100% organic linen that is spun in a ribbon structure. Kestrel knits up quickly into a fabric with incredible drape, and with its flat surface, adds a slight texture to simple knit and purl stitches. Also, like all things linen, this yarn only gets better (and softer!) as you wash and wear it.
We love the Elorie (shown below in Bordeaux), a modern pullover with slip-stitch textures. This pattern features a deep yoke and practical three-quarter length sleeves for a casual fit, and the top down construction allows for easy modifications throughout the knitting process. Elorie's detailed instructions make for an approachable and engaging knit, resulting in a garment that you'll want to wear year round.

Last, but certainly not least, is DanDoh Linen; a clean, crisp 100% linen fiber spun into a unique chain ply structure. This worsted weight linen knits up into a surprisingly light fabric that provides dramatic drape and a soft handle.
Yumiko Alexander, founder of DanDoh Designs, offers a stunning array of both knit and crochet patterns that really make this unique fiber shine. We love the Helix (shown below in Black Natural) for its beautiful simplicity and clever construction. When knitting Helix you have the choice of finishing the garment as a pullover (featured below), or cardigan.
