Ito Kinu Yarn

Ito Sensai Yarn

We're thrilled to announce that ITO has just landed on our shelves. ITO offers fine yarns produced in Japan, a country with a long tradition in textiles. This family business collaborates with small spinning and dyeing mills, and their yarns are distinguished for their special manufacturing process. ITO yarns offer extraordinary composition, unusual color palettes, and provide a unique tactile experience.

We're currently stocking ITO Kinu and ITO Sensai. Kinu is a 100% silk noil yarn (also called organic silk), produced from the leftovers of spun filament silk. This lace weight yarn has a lovely hand and drape, making it ideal for garments and next to skin accessories.

ITO Sensai is a delicate lace weight blend of mohair and silk that is luxurious and light as a feather. Use Sensai alone for lightweight knits, or hold it double with Kinu for a truly dreamy fabric.

Alive & Kicking in ito Kinu and Sensai

ITO Kinu and Sensai come together perfectly in Alive & Kicking. This lightweight sweater tee from Melanie Berg is worked top down and features a ballet neckline, delicate lace yoke, and seamless construction with a relaxed fit.

Cambito in Ito Kinu & Sensai

Cambito, an oversized boxy pullover designed by Katrin Schneider, features ITO Kinu and Sensai, and really lends itself to colorplay.

Keseran Pasasran in Ito Kinu & Sensai

Keseran Pasaran is a top down raglan sweater designed by Eri Shimizu. This sweater (featured in Laine Magazine Issue 11) combines ITO Kinu and ITO Sensai to create a textured, yet incredibly lightweight, design.
