"In the 1970s Marion Foale moved into knitwear design with the aim of creating timeless designs with an emphasis on perfect detail. In 1972, Marion settled into family life in a 16th Century thatched farmhouse on the Warwickshire borders. By 1981 she realized there was a desire for quality hand kntiwear so, with this in mind, and working from home, she set about designing her own collection. Using her previous experience in fashion design, she developed a new method of styling knitwear into tailored, structured shapes with an imaginative use of traditional stitches. Thus, she began creating classic and fashion styles, suitable for a wide range of customers. Her garments have become famous for their craftsmanship and perfect attention to detail and finish. Marion has always believed that only the best will do, and so has developed her own exclusive brand of 3 ply wool. Now working with eight permanent staff from studio premises in a local historic market town, Foale Ltd. is famous as an international fashion business, selling Marion's exclusive range of garments to customers around the world.
