Felting needles come in a variety of shapes and sizes and artists use them for 2-D and 3-D work, either singly or in a hand held apparatus that may hold several needles. All felting needles have a basic shape and have a long shank with a narrow shaft with a very sharp tip. The shafts may be triangular, star shaped or conical. Single size needles come in packages of 5 and the sampler pack comes with 6 of the commonly used sizes.
