As the first week of December comes to a close, knitters are starting to feel the holiday crunch time upon them. Our last feature in the Quick Knits series is also one of our favorites: Malabrigo Chunky.
Malabrigo is renowned for their supreme softness and radient colors. The round, rope-like appearance makes a gorgeously plush fabric, and the semisolid colors let the yarn shine through. Today we have 3 Quick Knit projects that can each be accomplished with just one or two skeins of Chunky. These projects will come in on time AND under budget: at just $12 per skein, this yarn is an ideal choice for last minute gift knits!
The Brown Stitch patterns have a practical yet stylish aesthetic, and the pop of color in Carmella transforms a simple cowl into a must-have accessory! This quick and cozy cowl is an easy addition to your gift knitting stash, the hard part is picking the color!
We love the bold cable and long rib of the Antler Mittens, especially in a bright color like Frank Ochre. These mittens will look stunning throwing snowballs, or otherwise keeping fingers toasty on a wintry day. If you don't have time to tackle cables, Tin Can Knits also has a free mittens pattern on Ravelry, "The World's Simplest Mittens" that will work with 1-2 skeins of Malabrigo Chunky, depending on size. .
The pussy hat project shook the knitting community last winter. In preparation for the National Women's March, thousands of people knit these pink hats for themselves, for friends, and to give away, and they have become a symbol of the greater Women's Rights Movement. We love that something as traditional as knitting played a role in women claiming their equal place in society.
Due to popularity, it is possible this yarn will sell out in Malabrigo Chunky Fuchsia. We will have more stock next week, but in the meantime we have other pink yarns in stock! For alternate options, try one of these:
